Today Apple has released Swift programming language as an open source project. This is super awesome news and long awaited by a swift community. What a year! Whats interesting about Swift? It's a new generation programming language for OSX and iOS platforms, first introduced in 2014 and has a lot of syntax/functionality similarities with other languages like Go, Scale, Ruby, C++.
With Swift being open and available to everyone it only took a few hours before someone put together a Docker image with a swift compiler. That also means that it's now running on Linux too!
